Max Uhlig war Professor für Malerei an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden. 2022 waren seine Arbeiten u.a. in der Ausstellung  „Rausch der Bilder“ im Brandenburgischen Landesmuseum für Moderne Kunst (DKW Cottbus) zu sehen
