Artist and oeuvre: See Wikipedia or entry in the „pictorial atlas of art in the GDR“. Michael Morgner, one of the most influencial artists in the former GDR, was co-founder of the artist's and producer's collective "Clara Mosch", which was classified "subversive" by the GDR Ministry for State Security.
